10th March 2010

Today I am working on the PowerPoint presentation for Jonathan and Sue and Ollie is making the final changes to the logo and his section of the PowerPoint. Connor is not here again, this is slightly annoying me and Ollie now because I have been able to see his work for a few weeks and I don't know if his ready for tomorrow or not. I am going to email Connor today and remind him that its the presentation soon , I really hope his prepared for it otherwise he he is going to have let the group down and put us well behind.

Ollie's Logo

From the suggestions we gave Ollie, he has gone and made improvements to the logo he created. As you can see below is the new logo.



After looking at it, I cant really see how he has made the suggestions that we made. The writing is in a bad colour because it doesnt stand out againest the background. The colours are too brigtht and dont match. I will show Connor this logo and see if he agrees with me or not, then we will discuss changes with Ollie.

7th March 2011

Connor Bennett is absent today. This is inconvenient for the group because we wanted to hold a meeting with everyone to look at Matt Butchers work. It won't be as useful if someone is absent because then we can not delegate jobs for us to each do. I will have to talk to Ollie and see what is best for us to do. Hopefully Connor will be here on Thursday, I am going to email him and see why he was absent today.

Our group has to do unit 5 work on Thursday and Friday this week- which is us creating a network, this means we cant do our practice presentation for unit 3, so we will have to do it on Monday 14th March.

4th March 2011

Today we had a meeting, we discussed how we need to arrange a time for the group to have a meeting to look through Matt Butchers work. We will agree who is going to do what and talk about what needs doing. We have decided to all meet in period 4 today to do this. Ollie failed to show us the 2^nd draft of his logos, so we will have to wait until Monday 7^th march. This is annoying because it’s holding the group back as we wanted to have decided on a logo by today’s meeting. We had a talk with Ollie and expressed our concern; he agreed to have it done by Monday. Our first draft presentation is on Friday 11^th March, so our group will need to be ready for this. The final presentation is on the 18^th of March.

PowerPoint Adjustments

Mr Abbott just looked at my PowerPoint, he thinks that theres too much text on it. I therefore will change it so the slides only have key points on and the text is in my speaker notes.

3rd March 2011

Today I am going to arrange a time with Ollie for a meeting in the next couple of days about everyones progress. Hopefully Connor will be in school tomorrow so we can have a group    meeting. We need to update our groups PowerPoint to add what everyones done since we first put it together.

14th February 2011

In todays meeting we saw Ollies three logo ideas. I am a little disappointed, I feel that he left them until last minute and rushed them. They aren’t very professional looking and I don’t think they would represent us very well. Also I think logos should be easy to remember so customers can recognise you from your logo, I don’t feel that the logos that Ollie has created will do this. Its annoying because I feel myself and Connor are putting in much more effort. The logos could have been alot better if he had spent abit more time and thought into them. In our next meeting me and Connor will discuss with him how we think he can make them better.

After the meeting this morning:

Ollie was unorganised and didn’t manage to bring his logo ideas to the meeting like he said he would. This is annoying because we will now have to discuss the logos on Monday at our next meeting which puts us behind.

Connor didn’t bring any work to show what he had done so far which again is frustrating because as team leader I don’t know where he is at and I don’t know hoe much work he has done, which makes it impossible for me to figure out a deadline for the groups PowerPoint presentation.

We have agreed that before our group can discuss who is going to do what of Matt’s work load we need to see what his done and what he have to work with. I need to email Mr Abbott so he can access the work Matt had done and give it to us.

We have agreed from the meeting that we need to have another meeting on Monday morning; we can discuss what needs to be done in Matt’s section of work and who’s going to do what. We will also be able to discuss the logos hopefully if Ollie brings his ideas.

11th February 2011

I have yet to see Ollies mock up of the logo we are going to present to Jonathan and Sue. His missed the deadline which we all agreed on, which is starting to annoy the rest of the group because his slowing us down. Myself and Connor have managed to stick to our deadlines we were given so we dont understand why Ollie hasnt.

We are going to hold a meeting period 2 today to see why he hasnt done it and find out when we will have the mock up logo.

I have just sent this to the rest of the team to aware them of our meeting tomorrow. 

10th February 2011

I going to go through the PowerPonit presentation today and highlight what we've got missing. Ollie is currently working on the logo to present to us tomorrow.

We've had a conversation with Mr Abbott to make sure were working along the right tracks. We will have another meeting again tomorrow to discuss our work.

7th February 2011

I wasnt here on friday so this morning I have been catching up with what I missed.

Ollie is going to spend this week working on the logo for me and Connor to see on Friday. I feel that I need to look more into security so I can give Jonathan and Sue a wider range of systems to chose from. Connors not here so I will email him and ask if he has any problems he needs help with and ask where he is at so far.

We will try and hold another meeting on the 12th Febuary but were not sure if we will be able to because we will be working on Unit 5, so if we cant we will have do meet next on the 15th of Feb.

17th January 2011

We have found out that Matthew Butcher has dropped out of the course.

This means now our group is:

-Lauren Brodie
-Connor Bennett
-Ollie Baiss

We can use what Matt has already done and then we will have to sort out within our group who is going to do the certain sections in Matts topic that he had.

I and Ollie have decided that we need to get into contact with Connor and Matthew because there hasn’t been much communication since our last IT lesson on the 10^th of December 2010. Today me and Ollie are going to grow through the others PowerPoint’s with a critical mind suggests ideas we can do to make them better. We will ask as many questions to one another as we can about the PowerPoint’s so we can make sure we are prepared for the presentation for Jonathan and Sue. We need to think of as many things that could be asked about the presentations so were ready.
